Flex-Weld, Inc. manufactures interlock hose as a component for engineered hose assemblies
or to be sold separately as bulk hose.
Interlock hose is produced by spirally winding a precision
slit metal strip so that the edges “interlock” to form a seamless length in a configuration, size,
and type custom designed for each specific application. Packing materials can be introduced
during the manufacturing process to form a leakage barrier in the interlock zone.
The interlock hose itself can be manufactured from a variety of materials including aluminum,
galvanized steel, stainless steel, Monel, Inconel, or bronze depending on the application.
Consult the factory for questions concerning material compatibilities and selection.
Inside diameters range from 1/8” to 24”. End use, at these size extremes, is generally for
capillary and telephone cable hose to large unloading hose for grain and sawdust, respectively.
Flexibility and weight can range from stiff to floppy, and heavy to light, depending on the
required usage of the product.
Although interlock hose can be used stand-alone with it’s own welded or brazed-on fittings, it is
also used as a liner for high flow velocity corrugated hose assemblies or as an outer guard for
braided corrugated hose assembly external protection.
The inside of this brochure provides some examples of standard stock interlock hose
configurations. |
